Who we are

Christians from many churches, sharing one life in Christ.

The Indianapolis branch is part of the People of Praise, a community that has been living this way since 1971.

We believe that following Jesus was never meant to be a solo project. So we've chosen to share our lives — our prayer, our homes, our time and our resources — with other Christians who want the same thing.

Charismatic

We believe the Holy Spirit is at work today.

The same Spirit who filled the first Christians still gives gifts — for prayer, for encouragement, for building up the Church and serving the people around us. We expect God to act, and we make room for Him when we gather.

Ecumenical

We come from many churches, and we stay in them.

Our members are Catholic, Protestant and more. We remain active in our own congregations and bring what we share back to them. Unity among Christians isn't a slogan for us; it's the people at our kitchen tables.

Covenant

We promise to love and serve one another for life.

After a season of getting to know the community, many members make a lifelong commitment to one another. It's a promise to show up — in prayer, in practical help, in ordinary days as well as hard ones.

Common questions

Do I have to leave my church?: No. Members stay active in their own churches. The community is a way of living our faith alongside Christians from different traditions, not a replacement for a local congregation.
Who is People of Praise for?: Single people, married couples and families — anyone who wants to follow Jesus more closely in friendship with others.
How do people usually get involved?: Most begin by coming to a public event or meeting members, then spend an unhurried season getting to know the community before considering any commitment.
